California Waives Thimerosal Ban To Combat Shortage

California has waived the ban on giving thimerosal-containing vaccines to pregnant women and children under 3 to allow immunization with stocks presently available in some locations.   We have not had a concern with thimerosal at the levels found in vaccines in the past, so this is a relief to us.   Unfortunately we are still waiting on our H1N1 vaccines to come in, though outlets in Alameda county are starting to receive some stock.
