Important Announcement re: After Hours Advice Line

As you know medical costs continue to climb and we are currently confronted with the need to change, and pay significantly more for, our after hours advice calls.  We are committed to providing thorough and timely medical advice for your family, including after hours.

After an extensive search and review process, we are pleased to announce that starting on 2/1/24 we, along with all UBCP-affiliated practices, will be offering after hours advice through a new group, Anytime Pediatrics.

When our office is closed, including on holidays, you may call Anytime Pediatrics for advice at (623) 663-1707. As before, if your child needs an after-hours appointment, appointments can be made at GoHealth in Oakland. One important change to note is that we will bill your insurance for these calls, and that these calls may be subject to a co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible, if not covered by your insurance.

Prior to making an after-hour call, the providers at Berkeley Pediatrics recommend that you look up your child’s symptoms on the AAP website healthychildren.org symptom checker:

BPMG's Vaccine Clinic Info

Updated 11/5/2021, 12:30 pm

We have now scheduled COVID 19 clinics for Nov. 6/27th and Nov. 20/Dec. 11th  BUT THESE CLINICS ARE ALREADY FULL  We are expecting further shipments of vaccine and will continue to schedule COVID-19 vaccine clinics but these appointments will be done by MyChart requests ONLY.  If you would like to sign up for one of the future COVID-19 clinics, please send us a MyChart Message.  Appointments will be made in the order the messages are received.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE TO SCHEDULE THESE APPOINTMENTS as these calls are overwhelming our front desk and preventing us from providing routine and urgent medical care.

If you have sent a message or requested appointments on MyChart, we have received them,  and your child is in the queue.  Please do not send repeated messages.  We are working very hard to order more vaccine and get more clinics scheduled.

Important considerations:

 1. All providers at Berkeley Pediatrics have carefully considered the risks and benefits of vaccinating this age group and recommend the COVID-19 vaccine for our patients once EUA authorization is approved.

 2. We CANNOT give your child their vaccine if they are not 5 years old by the date of the first scheduled appointment.  There will NOT be any exceptions to this.

3.  In order to prevent wasting doses, COVID-19 vaccines will be given ONLY at these clinics and not at other well visits/urgent care visits.

 4. We will NOT be administering other vaccinations during these clinics (such as flu vaccine or any other vaccines that are due)

 5. Your child must be an established patient at Berkeley Pediatrics to sign up for these clinics.

 6.  If your child is 11 years old and will be turning 12 soon, we recommend obtaining the dose recommended for your child's current age.

 7.  Vaccines for children 12 and up will NOT be administered at the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinics as they are a different dosage.

 8. Your child CAN receive a COVID-19 vaccine if they have recently received any other routine vaccine, including the annual flu shot
